RELEASED Brother Zhang Yi-Nan was released September 25, 2005 after serving the two years sentence in the labor camp. Thank you for praying for him.

Mr. Zhang Yi-nan was arrested the morning of September 26, 2003, along with Mr. Xiao Bi-guang, another house church leader who was released after 15 days of Administrative Detention. Zhang's wife Ding Guizhen, a nurse, was removed from her post in the operating room and taken to their home, where Public Security Bureau officers confiscated documents and a computer. Zhang has been charged with "subverting the Chinese government and socialist order." The authorities apparently used his personal prayer journal against him, quoting sections like, "We ask the Lord to destroy the strongholds in China." He had written prayers that God would destroy Atheistic organizations in China. These writings were "anti-Party, anti-Socialist,"according to a local PSB official. He has been sentenced to two years of laojiao-"re-education through labor"-by the Re-education Through Labor commission of Ping Ding Shan County in Henan Province. His sentence will end September 25, 2005. The first day at the facility he was beaten by fellow inmates at the behest of prison guards. Pray for the Lord's protection for Zhang and that those in prison with him may find Jesus.

The reward for your endeavor will be what is said by many prisoners "while doing time for God, we praise Him that we are not forgotten." Even in the most horrific conditions and suffering there can be dignity. This is what you will give to a fellow believer in our Lord Jesus Christ.
