North Korean Prisoners North Korea August 2005 September 29, 2006

Very few people have ever lived to speak about the atrocities committed in the dozens of labor camps spread across North Korea. And those who have escaped tell a story beyond belief. A recent interview with a missionary in North Korea tells of her imprisonment there: "I met one woman who was 25. She had been caught with a single Bible and had already (spent) three years (in prison). Another girl was only 19 years old. She was caught with four Bibles. She has since disappeared. The youngest prisoner in our camp was 9. He had wandered over the border in search for food. Prisoners are often beaten beyond recognition. Their bodies are like skeletons. My cellmate was former police. He confessed to personally executing two Christians. He was amazed they did not deny their faith in the face of death." We do not have a single photo or address of a North Korean prisoner. We ask for your prayers for our brothers and sisters in North Korea, and request you advocate on their behalf to their U.N. representative.

Please note
When writing a letter, never mention the name of the source of your information or the name of any organization such as Voice of the Martyrs or Prisoner Alert. It is not dangerous for a prisoner to receive letters from individuals, but if an organization is mentioned they may be accused of links with ‘foreign organizations’ and receive harsher sentences. Also, please do not state anything negative about their government. For the latest information, including letter writing tools and helps, please visit PrisonerAlert.com.

I gave thanks for you when I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus. I pray the eyes, ears and hearts of those who persecute you may open to Jesus. Philippians 1:29 For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake. Romans 8:18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
